Baby Colin at 4 Months

I took Colin to the doctor the other day for his 4 month check up and he is doing great!! He is a whopping 15.8 pounds which is 62% for weight. It is funny because I don't know exactly what Davis or Kate were at 4 months but I do know that at 3 months Davis was 16.8 pounds which is 86% for weight and I know Kate was very similar to Davis. Hard to believe that at 15.8 lbs Colin is so far my smallest baby. Maybe that means he has more of my genes rather than his dads??
I have a HUGE mom crush on this baby boy, he is just oh so sweet. He loves to blow bubbles and talks quite a bit. He smiles the most and laughs the hardest at his brother Davis, they have quite the connection. Kate is a very tender hearted little girl but not so tender when it comes to physical contact with Colin. Although she tries to be gentle with him, Colin almost always ends up crying when she is "loving" on him, somehow that just seems to fit Kate!!
I pulled out the bouncer yesterday and he has enjoyed sitting in it. He still can't control himself enough to actually play with it but I think he likes just sitting up and getting off his back.

Like Davis, Colin is not a fan of tummy time, unfortunately he has no choice but to suffer through it. Just like Davis and Kate, Colin sucks his left thumb. Davis and Kate are both left handed. It will be funny to see if Colin ends up being left handed as well? I am also left handed but never sucked my thumb. Mark will ask me sometimes what I did to our children that they all sucked their left thumbs and two of the three so far are lefties, I assure him I encouraged nothing!! It is funny how things end up.

This picture is just because I think he is so dang cute!!

Bread

So the other morning I knew Davis and Kate were in the kitchen and I found it strange that they were being very quiet. When I said their names as I was walking down the hall toward the kitchen they started to giggle. I found this as I turned the corner...
Davis informed me later that they were "making the sacrament." Although I was still mad at them for opening a brand new bag of bread and wasting almost the entire thing, I couldn't help but smile when he told me what the bread was for. (We then had a talk about only taking the sacrament at church and not preparing it at home).

Celebrating

Davis has been waiting quite a while to go to Red Robin for his birthday dinner. They ended up singing to both of us and then we enjoyed some ice cream and balloons! I have loved celebrating my birthday with my little boy, I can't believe he is already 5. He told me the morning of his birthday that he felt older and then he asked me if he was taller yet?!?

Pizza

So yesterday I let Kate go out front and ride her bike for a little bit. I was inside the house doing a few things but had the front door open so I could hear her and I would check on her out the window. I went into the kitchen to throw some paper away and when I went back to the front window to check on Kate I found this...

Kate had carried two pizza hut boxes from the garage floor to the front walk. She was eating 5 day old pizza from Davis' birthday party, that was waiting to be picked up on trash day. Now if any of you reading this right now know Kate at all, then this incident will make a lot of sense to you!!

Davis Turns 5

Davis turned 5 years old on March 2nd. I got to go to school with him and help him make a little birthday cake and a birthday crown. He was very excited to have me there and I loved being with him around all of his friends. They sang happy birthday to him and talked about the crown he made.

Davis chose to have a Dinosaur birthday party this year and we had a great time. About 8 or 9 children came and we played dinosaur games, ate pizza and had cake and ice cream. I put some streamers up for the party the night before after Davis had gone to bed. When he woke up the next morning he came walking up the stairs saying how much he loved his decorations. I love this age...for the most part children are still very easy to please. Davis also loved his dinosaur cake which was good because I am not too crafty in the cake decorating department! I colored the cake part orange and the kids thought that was so cool.

Nebraska Day

They celebrated Nebraska's birthday at Davis' preschool this last Monday. The kids made props and sang songs to all the parents. Their was a huge Nebraska cake for snack. Davis sure looked cute but didn't enjoy having to perform in front of so many people!! Mallorie is the little girl on the right, she is Davis' best friend at school.
