Dance

Kate started her first dance class today! She was very excited to get dressed for it. Her favorite thing about her outfit were her ballet slippers. I love having a girl, especially this one!

Kate's best friend Madelaine.

Preschool

Kate started preschool this last week and loves it! She has been talking about going to "cool" like her dad and Davis for quite some time now.

Kate gets to go to "cool" with her very best friend Madelaine, they are two silly girls together!!

Mobile

He is finally moving!! The other day I walked out into the hall to find this little guy. He had moved from his room to the hallway very quietly.

Strawberry Shortcake

Grandma and Grandpa Woolf sent Kate some money for her birthday so she could pick something out. We went to Toys R Us and found this collection of dolls...strawberry shortcake and all of her friends. I knew this was the perfect gift because Kate is like me, we love smelling things. She loves just walking around smelling them.

Kindergarten

Davis Started kindergarten on August 16th and had a great time. He came into my room the morning of his first day dressed and ready to go by 7:00 a.m. (school starts at 8:15). He told me that he was a little scared and we talked about some of the things he was going to do that day. He then told me that he felt a little better. I fixed him a bowl of oatmeal with juice and he didn't touch any of it, he was pretty nervous. I was proud of him though because despite being anxious about his first day, he jumped right into things with no problem. He has been talking about kindergarten for a good year now and I knew he was ready to go!!
The kindergartener's lined up with their teacher in the gym and were then walked to class. Davis walking with his classmates to his classroom.

His little nook. He loves his new dinosaur backpack and spiderman lunchbox.

Sitting at the mat with his teacher.

So Davis ended up getting the teacher that I had requested, Mrs. Martin. We were so excited about getting her, I have heard wonderful things about her and she is darling!!

Kate Turns 3

So Kate turned 3 on the 15th of August and of course we celebrated with dinner at Red Robin. She kept telling me all day... "Happy Birthday to me mommy!"

Opening presents after dinner.

Kate has been asking for the last 3 months for a "backpack for cool." She was so excited to finally get her backpack.

Us at Red Robin (somehow this picture is out of place).

Luau Party

Celebrating Kate's 3rd birthday at a Luau BBQ in our backyard!
Blowing out the candles!!

Kate's closest friend Madelaine. We sure are going to miss them when they leave in a year.

We have great friends here in Lincoln, we feel so blessed to have them!

Dad's Beard

So Mark was very proud of this beard. He grew this over the entire 5 weeks that we were in Idaho. I was a little nervous to see him because full on beards are not my thing to say the least. He definitely looked different but I didn't think it was as bad as I thought I would. Colin liked looking at it and touching it.

Lincoln Visit

So my sister Melissa also spent time in Idaho this summer with her children. She drove back to Lincoln with me to visit for a few days and then flew back to Pasadena from Omaha. The 16 hour road trip went surprisingly well. We were expecting the worst considering we were driving with 5 (very tired) children all under the age of 5 and doing it all in one day. We visited the Children's Museum, one of my favorite places in Lincoln, and the kids had a blast.
Hayley, Kate, Cole and Davis in the "Big Chair"!

This was their favorite part of the whole museum, running around with shopping carts full of food across the bridge! We love our cousins and sure do miss them. I am so glad that they were able to come and visit. Now we just need to figure out how to visit them in Cali!

Summer Fun

The kids and I went on a little road trip this summer. We drove to Idaho Falls (in one day) to visit my family. I hadn't been to Idaho in a few years so it was fun to see everyone and so much fun to show Colin off. My dad celebrated his birthday while we were there so we went to our ranch in Island Park to have dinner and play on the lake. This is cousin Hayley and Kate enjoying birthday cupcakes on the pier.

At the ranch with cousins Nicholas, Zach, Davis and Matthew.

I ended up spending about 5 weeks in Idaho so I signed Davis up on a little league team. I wish I could say that he loved it but unfortunately that was not the case. He enjoyed hitting the ball but really disliked standing out on the field in the heat. He said that part was boring! Hopefully next year he will be a little more enthusiastic about it. This is a sweet shot however of the baseball he just hit off the tee in mid-air.

Silly cousins having fun at the bowling alley (Zach, Derek, Hayley and Davis).

Ahh... I miss BYU campus so much. We visited my brother and his family and my sister in Provo for a day and had to stop off at the candy counter at the bookstore. I haven't been back to campus since Mark and I left 5 years ago. We got chocolate covered cinnamon bears (the best) and swedish fish. It was fun to see all of the new construction going on and walk around. Cousins in front of the library...Hayley, Cole, Davis, Kate and Colin.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Mark!!

Easter

Off to church...

We had some friends from church over for Easter dinner. I am excited to finally have a table big enough to set and feed people.

Davis loves these sisters, Abby and Maddie! They had a great time together.

Thanks for celebrating with us friends, we had a great time!

Easter Morning

Davis, Kate and Mark on Easter morning. Colin was still snoozing at this point and so he celebrated a little later.

Kate hunting for eggs!

Checking out the loot.

Finally Colin's turn to celebrate!

Pictures That Make Me Smile

So I have been trying to potty train Kate for the last week and a half (a job that I hate doing). While sitting on the toilet this morning Kate thought she would catch up on her Golf Digest.

My two little boys

Kate makes me laugh harder than most people and this day was no exception. She was out playing in the front the other day when she came into the house and insisted that I put Davis' helmet on her(he hates the thing and never wears it). Kate loves this helmet, I don't know why but she does? After I put the helmet on her she went back outside to ride her bikes with her play keys (she is turning her bike on here with her keys). She played around for another 45 minutes wearing the helmet the entire time.

A few weeks ago Colin was having some tummy time in my room. I left for a few minutes and when I returned I found this. Davis said Colin got bored so he and Kate brought him some things to play with. Siblings...they are always watching out for you!

Colin eating solids for the first time!! It only took him a day before he realized that he liked them!

Baby Colin at 4 Months

I took Colin to the doctor the other day for his 4 month check up and he is doing great!! He is a whopping 15.8 pounds which is 62% for weight. It is funny because I don't know exactly what Davis or Kate were at 4 months but I do know that at 3 months Davis was 16.8 pounds which is 86% for weight and I know Kate was very similar to Davis. Hard to believe that at 15.8 lbs Colin is so far my smallest baby. Maybe that means he has more of my genes rather than his dads??
I have a HUGE mom crush on this baby boy, he is just oh so sweet. He loves to blow bubbles and talks quite a bit. He smiles the most and laughs the hardest at his brother Davis, they have quite the connection. Kate is a very tender hearted little girl but not so tender when it comes to physical contact with Colin. Although she tries to be gentle with him, Colin almost always ends up crying when she is "loving" on him, somehow that just seems to fit Kate!!
I pulled out the bouncer yesterday and he has enjoyed sitting in it. He still can't control himself enough to actually play with it but I think he likes just sitting up and getting off his back.

Like Davis, Colin is not a fan of tummy time, unfortunately he has no choice but to suffer through it. Just like Davis and Kate, Colin sucks his left thumb. Davis and Kate are both left handed. It will be funny to see if Colin ends up being left handed as well? I am also left handed but never sucked my thumb. Mark will ask me sometimes what I did to our children that they all sucked their left thumbs and two of the three so far are lefties, I assure him I encouraged nothing!! It is funny how things end up.

This picture is just because I think he is so dang cute!!
