Feast Your Eyes

This year we spent our first Thanksgiving celebrating with our new addition to the family, Colin! Mark made the entire Thanksgiving feast on his own. He spent about 2 days in the kitchen getting everything ready. He went all out, not missing a thing. Needless to say we ate very, very well this year.

Our thankful turkey!!

Colin Anson Terry

Colin was born Wednesday, November 17th 2010. He was born at 12:14 p.m. He weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long.
Labor and delivery was for the most part uneventful which I consider to be a blessing. I started contracting Tuesday morning around 12:30 and did that all through the night. My contractions never were closer than 10 minutes apart so I just stayed in bed enduring the pain! At about 7:15 in the morning I noticed that I was bleeding a little and so I called the hospital. They told me that they wanted to check me. By 8:30 I was at the hospital being monitored. At 12:14 p.m. baby Colin was with us. I feel very blessed that things went well and Colin is doing great. I too am feeling great, recovery has been awesome, it helps when I only needed two stitches.

It is amazing how quickly such a little person can change your life. I thought my life was pretty great with Davis and Kate (and of course Mark) and didn't think it could get better, but now that Colin is with us I realize that it did get even better! It is as though there was a whole other part of me that has been waiting for this little guy for a long time and I can't imagine going through this life without him as well. I have enjoyed every minute with him and know that he is a miracle sent to me by Heavenly Father. How grateful I am to be a wife and mother and have 3 beautiful children and a husband that loves me!!

Pictures of Colin

Davis wore these pajamas when he was a newborn as well. I use to call him a little, green munchkin when he had them on. When I told him that this morning he giggled and thought that was pretty funny! Colin is already filling them out better than Davis did at this point. When I took Colin to see the doctor Monday he already weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs 2 oz. I do deliver small babies but in no time they become little chubbies!!

Enjoying a little tummy time!

Just snoozing away in the bouncer. It will be a sad day when his little hat is
no longer too big for him.

Davis loves Colin and says the sweetest things to him!!

Pulling some sort of tough guy look.

Red Robin

Enjoying a little Red Robin with some friends in celebration of baby Colin! Thanks Amanda for organizing the girls night. It was fun to celebrate with friends!

Little Black Dress

Every girl needs a little black dress (or maybe 2 or 3)! Sunday morning, 1 1/2 weeks before Colin joined our family.

Trick or Treat

Davis as the "Scary Skeleton" and kate as a "Cupcake" on their way out the door Thursday night to do some trick or treating at the Children's Museum here in Lincoln.
Sitting in the big chair at the museum
Our ward had a Halloween carnival on Saturday before the trunk or treat and it was a lot of fun. This is my little cupcake just after devouring a cupcake of her own.

Trunk or Treat

Our ward along with two other wards in our building had a trunk or treat Saturday evening. The kids had a great time and made off with quite the stash of candy!!

Some of our favorite friends here in Lincoln. (Above) Kate and Davis with Blake and Daphne (siblings) who are in our ward. (Below) Kate and Davis with Levi and Madelaine (also siblings) who are in a different ward. We love these friends and don't know what we would do if they weren't here!! Classic Kate can't keep her eyes off the candy. Kate was still saying "trick or treat" in the car on the way home. She said "trick or treat" for a solid hour, she's a fast learner!!

Pumpkins

This is the first year we were able to have pumpkins (we weren't supposed to have them in the student housing where we lived in LA) so we carved 3 or 4 of them. I thought the kids would love sticking their hands inside the pumpkins and cleaning them out but they wanted nothing to do with it other than to watch Mark and I clean out and carve them. Somehow that seems classic doesn't it, the mom and dad doing all the work!!

Soccer

I signed Davis up for soccer this past fall through the YMCA. He had a great time and looked darling on the field trying to control the ball!

Preschool

This is Davis on his first day of preschool! On the first day we ran errands in the morning and didn't take him to school until 12:30 but he was so excited to start that he wore his back pack into every store. He managed to tell every store clerk that we encountered that he was starting preschool that day. I was so happy that he was as excited as he was to start!!

Red Robin

For Kate's birthday we went to Red Robin for dinner and had a really fun time!

A pretty good size group of employees came out and sang a birthday song to Kate. They had balloons, a sundae and fruit snacks for her. While they were singing she was trying to figure out what the heck was going on, it was pretty fun. By the way...Red Robin takes care of you on your birthday, we couldn't have gone to a better place.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE- WE LOVE YOU!

Kate Turns 2

Kate turned 2 on August 15th and we had a garden party for her! This little girl is happy, very busy and full of life!! She is constantly making us laugh and makes friends where ever she goes. She is the best at giving kisses, even to people she just meets. She is best friends with Davis and I can't imagine the two of them not having each other. We love her so much and are so thankful for her in our lives!!!
Kate with her butterfly pinata waiting for her party guests to arrive.

Kate and Daphne on their way out to the slip-n-slide.

Kate loved her pinata and I thought it was so cute I had a hard time seeing it go.

Lincoln Zoo

A couple of weeks ago the zoo had a fundraiser where you could take unlimited trains rides around the zoo for free. We met our friends, the Keippel's (so glad you guys are here we have a great time hanging out with you) and rode the train and looked at the animals!

Children's Museum

Lincoln has the most amazing Children's Museum. It is 3 stories and filled with so many creative things for children to play with. We spent almost 2 1/2 hours on the bottom level alone. The kids and I met my friend Bonnie and her children there. The bottom floor has a fun water station that the kids just loved. Needless to say this will be a great source of entertainment in the winter time which is why I am getting a season pass!!

Antique Tractor Show

Just outside of Lincoln we went to an Antique Tractor Show where we met up with the Keippel's, some friends of ours here. The kids had a great time with each other playing on the tractors!

Davis and Mark playing in a tractor game they had for children. They had to "race" around the cones, pick up hay and load it in the trailer, and drive backwards. It was funny to watch.

Davis and Kate on the little tractor, they spent forever on this thing.

Kate and Madelaine enjoying their popcorn, thanks Bonnie for the popcorn!

Lincoln, Nebraska

So we finally made it to Lincoln!! This is our house (the first home Mark and I have lived in since being married)! We have so much more room than our little student apartment in LA. We have 4 bedrooms and 3 baths so all of the kids including the baby who is on his way, all have their own rooms. We have a basement and a fenced backyard which are great for the kids. We love Lincoln! The community here is great and every thing is so family friendly, this place was made for families! We enjoy all the many parks they have, the zoo, awesome children's museum, water parks, bike trails, etc. We have also made some great friends. More than anything we are excited to have made it through dental school and are that much closer to being done with school in general.

UCLA Dental Graduation

I still can't feel that it is real, that graduation from dental school has come and gone! When we started 4 years ago I could have sworn that it would never end. It has not been the easiest thing that we have ever done, in fact it is the hardest thing we have done as a family so far, but we are living proof that it does end!! Leaving in a few weeks is truly going to be "bitter sweet" for me. I have made some of the dearest friends and leaving them behind is going to be hard. As a family we have had some very trying times but have seen the Lord work miracles in our lives! We are so grateful for family and friends who have supported us in many ways. We love you guys and are thankful for you. University of Nebraska here we come, only 3 more years!!

Graduation

Thank you to my parents, Mark's parents and Mark's sister Anne for celebrating with us!!
